I help women go from Confused to Confident when navigating the overwhelming world of hormone therapy.
Why it’s so hard to receive good menopausal hormone care and how I can help…
One flawed study over 24 years ago single-handedly changed the landscape of menopause care for an entire generation of women around the world. Overnight, hormone therapy was labeled dangerous, doctors stopped prescribing, and medical schools largely stopped teaching menopause care — despite later analyses revealing major limitations in the original research.
Translation? Providers under age 50 would have received little to no meaningful menopause or hormone therapy education during medical training. Providers over age 50 were young, impressionable doctors at the height of the fear campaign and many still carry a deeply ingrained unconscious bias around hormones. A 2023 survey by the Menopause Society found that only about 7% of OB-GYN, family medicine, and internal medicine residents felt adequately prepared to manage menopause, meaning approximately 93% did not feel prepared. The result is a healthcare system filled with clinicians who are undereducated on menopause care, hesitant to prescribe, don’t prescribe or under-prescribe. True hormone specialists have pursued extensive education outside of traditional medical training to understand how to use hormones therapeutically for long-term brain, bone, and cardiovascular health — not simply provide enough treatment to dull symptoms.
The FDA recently removed the boxed warning that falsely stated all estrogen products caused ‘ENDOMETRIAL CANCER, CARDIOVASCULAR DISORDERS, BREAST CANCER AND PROBABLE DEMENTIA’. The removal of the warning has left women clamoring for hormone care, but the removal did not magically train providers overnight to effectively prescribe hormones nor did it remove the 24-year-old unconscious bias against them. Meanwhile, the pharmaceutical industry — which heavily sponsors medical societies and continuing education conferences — has little financial incentive to champion inexpensive generic hormones that can’t be patented and heavily monetized.
Hormone replacement therapy is highly nuanced medicine. Unless a provider has pursued advanced training outside of traditional medical education, they are unlikely to have received the depth of education needed to treat women optimally.
Organizations that should have led the charge in correcting the narrative 24 years ago — including The Menopause Society, formerly North American Menopause Society — moved far too slowly, leaving millions of women dismissed, under-treated, and told to simply suffer through symptoms that were often treatable. For more than two decades, women have paid the price for that failure.
Women are demanding better care, but the confusion is real. Women are frustrated, overwhelmed, and struggling to make sense of conflicting information, rushed appointments, insurance limitations, and treatment options that are rarely fully explained.
This is where I come in…
Women come to me because they're tired of feeling confused by conflicting advice, rushed appointments, and a healthcare system that often leaves them with more questions than answers. I help them go from Confused to Confident by breaking down complex hormone information into clear, practical guidance they can actually use.
Because I study both evidence-based conventional medicine and root-cause functional approaches, I help clients understand not only what their options are, but why different providers may recommend completely different paths—and the philosophies, incentives, limitations, and biases behind those recommendations that often can't be fully explained in a 10-minute appointment.
Together, we explore hormone therapy options, lab testing, medication choices, costs, insurance barriers, and the often-confusing differences between conventional and functional approaches to care. I also share practical money-saving strategies for medications, lab work, and accessing quality care. My role is not to tell women what to do—it's to help them understand their options, ask better questions, and make informed decisions with confidence.
I am certified by The Menopause Academy and have completed advanced hormone-focused coursework through programs by Dr. Heather Hirsch, Dr. Kelly Casperson, and WorldLink Medical. Beyond formal training, I spend countless hours immersed in current research, medical lectures, books, podcasts, and patient education from leading experts in menopause, sexual medicine, and hormone therapy.
My goal is simple: to help women replace confusion with clarity, uncertainty with confidence, and passive participation with active partnership in their menopause care.
While I provide educational support and guidance, my services are not medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or replace care from a licensed healthcare professional. Clients should always consult their own qualified healthcare team regarding medical decisions and treatment plans.
